After thanking the Lord for His blessings this year, it’s a day to share those blessings through charitable giving.

If you have a passion for spreading the Gospel, India is one of the most critical mission fields — and now is a key time to support Mission India as they touch kids’ hearts.

Raina Miller with Mission India says, “Giving Tuesday falls during our 10-Day Children’s Bible Club matching challenge, so it’s a great time to take advantage of that…. Every dollar that you give to 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs is currently being doubled — so $1 is doubled to reach two children with the good news of Jesus!”

India is home to 1.4 billion people, and 96% have never heard the Gospel. Mission India works with local Christian partners for these Children’s Bible Clubs — even as believers face intense persecution.

“India is actually the 11th most dangerous nation in the world for Christians,” Miller explains. “There are people who are ostracized from their communities, they are facing violence, they’re facing intimidation in all different forms for following Christ…. And yet, we’re finding that the more persecution increases, the more the Church grows.”

You can donate to Mission India’s 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs today at www.missionindia.org/double.

This Giving Tuesday, help make an eternal difference for children in India.

Miller also asks, “Pray that the kids who are reached through the Bible Clubs that are being sponsored during this match would have their hearts changed in a way that pushes them to lead others to Christ as well. [Pray] that it just creates a domino effect where the kids reached through this match then go on to reach entire communities!”

How a 10-Day Bible Club changed Rohitha’s life forever https://www.mnnonline.org/news/how-a-10-day-bible-club-changed-rohithas-life-forever/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-a-10-day-bible-club-changed-rohithas-life-forever Fri, 07 Nov 2025 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=218017 India (MNN) — When Rohitha walked into a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club for the first time, she didn’t know what to expect.

Like many kids in India, she grew up in a home filled with idols and rituals. Worship was familiar — but Jesus was not. Still, something about the songs, stories, and kindness of her Bible Club leaders drew her in.

Rohitha’s life was changed forever at a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club. (Photo courtesy of Mission India)

“She loved hearing about Jesus healing the sick, and His sacrifice on the cross really resonated with her,” says Mission India’s Raina Miller. “So by day seven out of 10 at the Bible Club, she was reflecting on her life and the concept of forgiveness, and she couldn’t stop thinking about Jesus.

“On day nine out of 10, Rohitha invited Jesus into her heart, and she received Him as Savior — and on day 10, she declared her faith publicly!”

Now, Rohitha is part of a local church and prays daily for her parents to know the same hope she’s found.

Stories like hers are why Mission India continues to host 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs across the country — and why their matching challenge that launched today matters so much!

From now through December 31, a generous partner will match every gift toward Mission India’s 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs up to $1.1 million.

“Normally, one dollar lets one child attend a Bible Club,” Miller explains. “But through this match, one dollar reaches two children. So this is giving them the chance to attend a Bible Club where they can hear about Jesus — many of them, for the first time.”

Miller adds, “It’s just incredible to see what can happen in the span of only 10 days. You would think that’s such a short time, but kids’ lives turn around in that short amount of time, and they’re introduced to Jesus. It changes their lives forever, and it gives their parents the chance to have their lives changed as well.”

You can double your impact and help reach twice as many children with the Gospel at www.missionindia.org/double!

How to pray for India’s Christians https://www.mnnonline.org/news/how-to-pray-for-indias-christians/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-pray-for-indias-christians Fri, 24 Oct 2025 04:00:17 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=217702 India (MNN) — The Middle East may come to mind when you hear the term “persecuted Christians,” but Mission India’s Raina Miller says India is a persecution hotspot, too.

“Just over a decade ago, Open Doors ranked India as number 32 on its list of the 50 most persecuted nations, and now India is all the way up at number 11,” Miller says. Learn more here.

“It’s definitely a very bold and courageous thing – to follow Jesus in India.”

Millions of people in India have never heard the name of Jesus and have no access to a Bible or church. Those who do follow Jesus risk everything for Him.

“When people become a Christian, they’re often cut off from their family,” Miller says. “They are prevented from getting jobs, and people have even lost their lives in India for their faith.”

Mission India’s new devotional will introduce you to the faces behind these facts.

“It’s a seven-day devotional starting on October 27 through November 2, which is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church,” Miller says.

“Each day, we’re including stories and prayer points to help guide your prayers as you learn about this difficult situation,” she continues.

“We are providing stories of events that have taken place in the past year – real people who have been affected by real issues of persecution in India.”

Request yours here, and learn how persecution affects families. For example, “Bulesh and Maria became Christians after they attended one of Mission India’s adult literacy classes,” Miller says.

After these new believers made their new faith public, “Bulesh’s mom, along with other women from the village, chased the family out of their home. It’s hard to comprehend what that means for this woman to do that to her granddaughter at nine months old.”

Widespread flooding in India leaves farmlands submerged, families struggling https://www.mnnonline.org/news/widespread-flooding-in-india-leaves-farmlands-submerged-families-struggling/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=widespread-flooding-in-india-leaves-farmlands-submerged-families-struggling Fri, 26 Sep 2025 04:00:46 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=217194 India (MNN) — Parts of India are drowning in a record-setting monsoon season. This week, the city of Kolkata in West Bengal suffered its heaviest rainfall in 39 years. In Punjab, farmlands nearly the size of London and New York City combined are underwater.

Raina Miller with Mission India says, “We’re getting reports from our partners in North India all the way down to South India about what’s happening in their regions. They share that in the state of Punjab, there are about 1.46 million people affected.”

For farmers and their communities, “they don’t have a means of earning income if their farmland is gone. They’ve got infrastructure down. There are some areas where you can only get around by boat right now because the flooding has blocked off all the roads. It’s damaged irrigation systems. It’s just impacted just about everything.”

Amidst tragedy, Mission India’s local partners are ready to respond with Christ’s comfort.

Miller says, “Once the flooding subsides and people start to rebuild, we’re able to welcome kids into Bible Clubs, and welcome illiterate adults into Literacy Classes where they can maybe even gain skills to help them build back and find new jobs that’ll land them in a better place than even where they started.

“Our church planters will be around ministering and encouraging people who are devastated as they deal with this loss.”

Additionally, Mission India is assembling Relief Kits to distribute to flood-impacted families.

“For $55, you can provide for one family and give them things like basic groceries, rice, tea, cooking ingredients, toothpaste, soap, and basic essentials that will help them get by when they’ve lost everything.”

Donate to Mission India’s flooding Relief Kits at missionindia.org/flood.

Miller asks, “Pray with us that this becomes an opportunity for people to lean on God and see the truth of the Gospel in the midst of their hopelessness.”

How do sports lead to transformation? Sumit’s story https://www.mnnonline.org/news/how-do-sports-lead-to-transformation-sumits-story/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-do-sports-lead-to-transformation-sumits-story Fri, 04 Jul 2025 04:00:11 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=215693 India (MNN) — The shouts and laughter of children fill the air at Mission India children’s Bible clubs. Sports are a core part of the curriculum used to reach kids with the good news of Jesus — and it makes a difference!

Bill* with Mission India shares the story of a troubled boy named Sumit. Life wasn’t easy in his house. His father had passed away when he was very young, and his two older brothers made the poor choices that Sumit followed. Eventually, he was kicked out of school.

But one thing remained steady: Sumit’s love for the game of cricket! He dreamed of being on the national team for India.

“His mother, through the grief of losing her husband and not knowing what to do with these three boys, gave her life to Christ,” says Bill.

The pastor at their church suggested that she send Sumit to a children’s Bible club. One of the first activities that day? Cricket!

“[It] just so happened [that] one of the helpers of the leader of the Bible club was very good at cricket. He and Sumit developed a friendship,” says Bill.

“Over the course of about six months, the misbehaviors that Sumit was so good at were replaced with positive behaviors. About seven months in, he gave his life to Christ.”

Sumit’s story is one of many, where a child just needs someone to take an interest in them.

“One of our ministry principles… follows this B.L.E.S.S. acronym: the body, the labor (the work that people do), emotional support that people need to develop, their social skills and their spiritual skills [or] their spiritual development.”

Bible club leaders shower kids with the love of Christ and provide academic and spiritual instruction, along with the chance to play sports!

“I think that’s the secret sauce,” Bill says, referring to the leaders. “You know, you have somebody from the community who’s given their life to Christ to lead children into a relationship with Jesus.”

Would you pray for the children of India? Consider partnering with Mission India to reach them. A gift of $36 per month sponsors 18 kids for an entire year of Bible club. (Want to see what club looks like? Watch this video!)

“The opportunity for children is just unbelievable. It’s a great place to invest prayer. It’s a great place to invest resources,” says Bill.

“Pray specifically that the children of India would be turned toward our Almighty God. I believe it’s an undeniable right that children should be able to know their father. To be able to offer that to millions of children that haven’t ever met God, we would certainly like to make that offer.”

Bible Clubs in India reach families https://www.mnnonline.org/news/bible-clubs-in-india-reach-families/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=bible-clubs-in-india-reach-families Fri, 13 Jun 2025 04:00:17 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=215226 India (MNN) — Mission India is passionate about reaching children with the gospel – a mission that changes the lives of families.

Raina Miller with Mission India says, “When parents have significant struggles with things like if they’re abusive, they’re alcoholics, or even if they’re just really struggling through poverty, that affects everything, and it really affects the kids. And the opposite is true too. So when these parents get to know Jesus, it completely changes the whole household.”

One of Mission India’s main ministries is its children’s Bible clubs. Jada, daughter of a daily wage laborer, began attending one of these clubs seeking support with her education. Jada struggled not just because of her socioeconomic status but faces discrimination because of her family’s ethnic group.

“She joined a Children’s Bible club, and she was just curious about it at first, and just wondered what it was all about. And she really enjoyed the Bible based skits, Christ-centered songs with fun motions and dance moves, and things like that. And she was really drawn in by the Bible verses that were shared and the stories she heard about Jesus. So the Bible club leader was really encouraging, taught her about loving God and God’s purpose for her life, and that she mattered, and she ended up receiving Jesus as her Savior. And all of that led to more confidence that translated at home.”

Jada’s dad, however, became sick. Miller says, “Jada had just learned about Jesus and that he could heal, so she actually prayed in Jesus’ name for her father’s healing, and he was healed.”

This miraculous healing not only opened Jada’s eyes even more to Jesus but led her entire family to Christ.

Jada and her family find God. (Photo courtesy of Mission India)

“Although life might still be difficult in some ways, they have hope that they didn’t have before this, because a little girl trusted Jesus to heal her dad, and now she’s got parents who are able to lead the family in a Christ-centered way,” says Miller.

Miller said that God revealed himself to Jada through the Bible Club, and this story can be a reminder to believers.

“What do you do with a miraculous story like this in your own faith?” asks Miller. “What are you not trusting God for that you could? What could he be doing in a miraculous way that this feels far-fetched? This is a young girl, probably 9 or 10 years old, and she trusted God to heal her dad, and her whole household is changed because of it, so there’s a great personal takeaway for each of us to remember: God still does miracles today, and that they’re worth asking for.

Mission India invites people to come alongside their ministry with their new monthly giving program, Pathfinders. The monthly contribution of $36 will provide 18 kids with Bible Club for a year. Learn more about how you can be involved by visiting their website.

Please pray for Jada, her family, and others with stories like hers. Pray that God would move in the hearts of children attending Bible Clubs and that His name would be magnified in families touched by Mission India.

Kids fall behind as Manipur unrest continues https://www.mnnonline.org/news/kids-fall-behind-as-manipur-unrest-continues/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=kids-fall-behind-as-manipur-unrest-continues Fri, 02 May 2025 04:00:39 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=214462 India (MNN) — Hundreds of people in northeastern India were killed when ethnic tensions flared in Manipur state on May 3, 2023.

“Two years later, there is still tension. There’s still unrest in this community, and unfortunately, kids are being affected as a result,” Mission India’s Raina Miller says.

Persistent unrest led to the resignation of Manipur’s Chief Minister Biren Singh in February, followed by the imposition of President’s Rule. More about that here.

Violent clashes between Manipur’s Meitei and Kuki communities have displaced thousands of people in the past two years, destroying homes, churches, and schools.

Gaman fell behind in school due to two years of unrest in Manipur.

“A young boy named Gaman was in first grade when the violence first broke out in Manipur. He wasn’t able to go to school for months, and as a first grader, that’s a big deal; he quickly forgot everything that he learned,” Miller says.

“Once things settled down in his area enough to go back to school, he was really behind and discouraged.”

Thankfully, Mission India’s partners began a year-long Children’s Bible Club in Gaman’s hometown. “Our Bible clubs feature time each day spent on tutoring, so Taber, as the Bible club leader, was able to help [Gaman] with his schoolwork,” Miller says.

“[Tutoring took place] while doing tons of fun activities like sports and games, not to mention all the Bible-based activities like memorizing Scripture and singing songs about Jesus.”

After months of hard work and help from the Bible club leader, Gaman caught up to his classmates. Best of all, he learned more about Christ and grew in his faith.

Children’s Bible Clubs are a critical asset to parents living in poverty. “They work such long hours that they can’t be home to help with homework, and they can’t pay for a tutor,” Miller says.

Through Mission India’s new Pathfinder program, you can provide a clear path to Jesus for every child in India.

Typically, $36 supports 18 kids in a year-long Children’s Bible Club, but “Right now, your first 12 months of gifts will be matched, so $36 per month will reach 36 children in India for the first year of your giving,” Miller says.

Become a Pathfinder here.

Boy escaping home chaos finds peace at Mission India Bible Club https://www.mnnonline.org/news/boy-escaping-home-chaos-finds-peace-at-mission-india-bible-club/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=boy-escaping-home-chaos-finds-peace-at-mission-india-bible-club Fri, 11 Apr 2025 04:00:34 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=214025 India (MNN) — When young boy Akil began attending a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club in India, he struggled with anxiety and loneliness. His home life was filled with conflict, and Akil had nowhere else to turn.

Raina Miller with Mission India says, “His parents were fighting at home all the time. His dad was really busy with work, and his mom was busy performing rituals to their gods because she was very superstitious. His parents had differing belief systems and it caused a lot of arguments between them.”

A friend had invited Akil to the 10-Day Bible Club run by Mission India. What started as a simple invitation turned into something life-changing.

“He was just surrounded by love and joy like he hadn’t experienced before — and stability that he definitely didn’t have at home,” says Miller. “As he was at the Bible Club each day, he felt relaxed in a way that he didn’t feel at home.”

Akil played games with other kids, sang songs, and most importantly, heard about Jesus for the first time.

Miller says, “He noticed that the Bible stories he was hearing contradicted what his parents believed, but he believed in them, and he believed in Jesus. He was moved and received Jesus as his Savior!”

Akil returned home transformed and he began sharing the Bible stories he learned with his family. His mother, moved by the change in her son, left behind her superstitious practices. By God’s grace, there is more peace now in Akil’s home.

While Akil’s parents haven’t yet made decisions to follow Jesus, they are open and curious — and continuing to explore the Gospel because of their son’s testimony.

Miller says stories like Akil’s aren’t uncommon. “We see kids all the time leading others to Christ…. Kids come to a Bible Club for the first day and love it so much that they want to bring their brothers and sisters and friends the next day. So the impact just grows from there.”

With 356 million children under the age of 15, India holds one of the greatest opportunities to reach the next generation for Jesus.

This Easter, Mission India is inviting believers to get involved in a simple but powerful way.

Through April 21, donations to the 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs are being matched dollar for dollar, up to $350,000. That means every $1 sends two children like Akil to a Bible Club where they’ll hear about Jesus — and potentially change their families from the inside out.

“I don’t know what better Easter gift you could give than introducing a child to Jesus,” says Miller.

Young Indian girl found purpose, healing at 10-Day Bible Club https://www.mnnonline.org/news/young-indian-girl-found-purpose-healing-at-10-day-bible-club/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=young-indian-girl-found-purpose-healing-at-10-day-bible-club Fri, 21 Mar 2025 04:00:13 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=213692 India (MNN) — For six long years, Samrina’s life was overshadowed by pain. A persistent stomach ulcer plagued her childhood, leaving her parents desperate for answers. Doctors searched for solutions, but none could bring relief.

Then Samrina’s parents heard about a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club from a Christian relative. Although they themselves were not believers, her parents figured it would be an enjoyable distraction for their young daughter.

From Samrina’s first day, Raina Miller with Mission India says, “She loved it! There were tons of fun activities. There were songs that she got to sing about Jesus that had fun dances and motions to them, and then she memorized Scripture verses too. All this is just kind of new to her.”

Samrina (Photo courtesy of Mission India)

But most of all, “The message of Jesus really spoke to her,” Miller says. “She was just amazed that God loved her. After her life had been pretty much dominated by pain and desire for healing [from] medical issues, she was amazed to discover that her life really had purpose — no matter what she might be going through.”

With childlike faith, Samrina decided to bring her greatest need before Jesus. She prayed for healing.

“One of the incredible things about our 10-Day Bible Clubs is that the children learn how to pray to Jesus,” said Raina Miller with Mission India. “They understand that Jesus can answer their prayers and that he can do miracles.”

By the end of the 10 days, Samrina experienced what no doctor had been able to provide — complete healing. The pain that had tormented her for years was gone, and her family could not deny the miracle they witnessed.

Overcome with gratitude, her parents began attending church, eager to learn more about the God who had healed their daughter. “Now we’re just praying that her parents come to salvation,” says Miller.

“We’re so excited about what’s to come this summer as more children like Samrina find hope and even healing and eternal life in Christ through this 10-Day Children’s Bible Club!”

Across India, thousands of children will step into these clubs — some battling struggles of their own, and all seeking joy, love, and hope. You can help introduce them to the love of Christ!

Just $1 typically allows one child to attend a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club. But right now, Mission India is running an Easter matching challenge that doubles every dollar given until April 21.

See your gift expanded to reach more kids in India with the Gospel! Give to Mission India’s matching challenge here.

Then, pray for these kids attending 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs to become lights for Jesus in their generation.

Over 30 killed in Indian religious festival stampede https://www.mnnonline.org/news/over-30-killed-in-indian-religious-festival-stampede/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=over-30-killed-in-indian-religious-festival-stampede Mon, 03 Feb 2025 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.mnnonline.org/?post_type=news&p=212717 India (MNN) — On Wednesday, more than 30 people were killed and 60-plus injured in a religious festival stampede in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.

Kumbh Mela is the world’s largest religious pilgrimage, occurring every 6 and 12 years on a rotation between four different cities in India. However, this year’s Maha Kumbh Mela only happens once every 144 years.

Kumbh Mela 2019 (Photo courtesy of Ninara/Flickr: https://tinyurl.com/4zzh9ktv)

The monumental festival continues through the end of February. It’s estimated over 100 million attendees have come this year for the rare celebration to bathe in the Ganges River for salvation.

According to the festival’s special executive officer, a barrier near the river broke, causing a crowd rush.

Mission India’s Regan Miller says, “A lot of people are searching for hope in places that they’re not finding hope. So things like bathing in the Ganges River and hoping that will cleanse them of their sins, that’s already a disheartening thing to hear about. Then to see that a festival that emphasizes cleansing of sins would end in such a tragedy like this as well is just really sad to see.”

The Kumbh Mela pilgrimage and festival highlights the deep spiritual needs in a country like India with 1.4 billion people — 95% of whom have never heard the Gospel.

Earlier last year, a Mission India church planter met Madhuri, a woman from Uttar Pradesh who often went on pilgrimages.

Madhuri and her teenage daughter, Rahana. (Photo courtesy of Mission India)

“She kind of just felt like this void still as she used to go on all these pilgrimages,” Miller says, “but she thought that the wrath of her gods would fall on her family if she didn’t appease them.”

But Jesus changes everything. Madhuri’s teenage daughter was diagnosed with cancer, and the church planter shared the Gospel with Madhuri and her daughter and taught them to pray in Jesus’s name.

Miller says, “Her daughter ended up being completely healed of cancer! It was just a complete miracle!

“After [her daughter] being healed through prayers, Madhuri couldn’t help but receive Jesus as her Savior. Her daughter is now excited to share the Gospel with others too because she saw what it did in her own life.”

Just as Madhuri did, pray for the people of India to seek true salvation — not in pilgrimages and rituals — but in Jesus Christ.

Please especially be in prayer for those whose loved ones died in the festival stampede, and that God would grant healing to the injured.

You can give in support of Mission India’s Church Planter Training, and sign up for their daily email prayer prompts.
